About Me
Over the last years I have worked for Megaupload and was responsible for the creation and development of Megabox, the music streaming service in the Mega network. While at this position I have managed and coordinated a multidisciplinary team of 10-30 people, worked directly with worldwide teams in the most diverse areas of expertise and had often the opportunity to travel in a business context.
I have a really strong knowledge on technology and online music. Constant communication and negotiations with labels (EMI, Sony, Universal, Warner, Merlin, The Orchard), third party services (Rovi, MusicBrainz, Gracenote, MediaNet, 7Digital, Discogs, Songkick, LyricFind, among others) and even a few famous artists, were part of my daily routine.
During my graduation and in my first years of work I was mostly a Software Developer, and with the passing of the time I evolved into management. My technical background allows me to understand and communicate perfectly with tech teams and act as a liaison between multidisciplinary teams and content providers.
In my last job I was responsible for the corporate finances and the recruitment process at the company. Dealing with budgets, contracts, legal matters and other organizational documentation was also part of my daily routine.
I am used to work in a fast paced and high pressure environment and I also understand what it takes to motivate a team, always making use of my communication skills to help others improve as professionals. I am self-demanding, perfectionist with great attention to detail, and I always give my best to deliver high quality work in time.
My native tongue is Portuguese and I speak fluent English. I've also studied and lived one year in Salamanca, Spain, which allowed me to learn and speak fluent Spanish.
I am a huge music lover, vinyl collector, addicted to music concerts, a studious of music in general and even created a music webzine.
Furthermore, currently I'm taking a Master in Multimedia at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto. -
