Duties

To assist in the development of the web assets of The Client and it’s associated brands.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
To provide development services to the The Client’s Website and all subdivisions thereof
To form part of the IT \ Technology Helpdesk System
Identify improvements and changes required to company technology and the delivery thereof
Ad hoc tasks and projects and follow instructions as required by the Head of Web.
Comply with all The Client Policies and procedures, including the Health and Safety Policy and The Client’s Quality Manual.
Person Specification:
Essential qualifications;
BSc in ICT or equivalent
Experience: Substantial web development experience with multi media experience preferred using the following technologies
Drupal
LAMP
Linux
Knowledge and Skills;
5+ years PHP Development experience
Drupal version 6 or 7
Strong knowledge of Linux, Apache and MySQL technologies.
Experience in browser based technologies including HTML, CSS, AJAX, REST, JSON
Familiarity with continuous integration technologies such as SVN or Git.
Ability to interpret written requirements and technical specification documents.
Previous experience developing websites design for high volumes of traffic and creating interactive web portals.
Ability to develop websites according to published standards and design guidelines.
Experience of software development process.
Good verbal and written skills. The ability to write technical reports to audiences of varied technical knowledge, the ability to write structured and precise technical procedures

Interpreting written business requirements and technical specification documents.
Developing individual webpages according the web industry standards.
Coding individual webpages with access to CMS portal using Drupal.
Performing coding to written technical specifications.
Investigating, analysing and documenting reported defects.
Performing maintenance programming and correction of identified defects.
Creating, documenting, and implementing unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation using defined technical documentation templates.
Assisting departmental website content administrators to maintain their sites
Developing and maintaining the THE CLIENT Web site according to tasks assigned to the developer by the Head of Online
